We are Dave and Edith Thomson of Kinglassie, Fife, here in Scotland. We bought our first collie purely as a pet from the late Harry McLaren of the 'Narragansette' Kennel in 1963. However our interest in the show scene started in 1982 with our first show dog (Ravenscraig Black Bodie) from Mrs W. Wilson of 'Ravenscraig' Collies, who gave us boundless advice and support. From then we brought in Claredawn Royal Tartan and then to the 'Sylcroft' Kennel and the late and much missed Sylvia Pinchbeck, with amongst others - Sylcroft Sheer Mystique (pictured below), who gave us so much fun in the ring.
We then saw and fell in love with the type of collie as produced at the 'Steelhurst' Kennels and the result was 'Steelhurst Star Appeal at Lomondvale'. Emmy had all the qualities one would wish in a Collie except one - she was a reluctant showgirl, but when she did get her act together she was a picture. Sadly she died at a young age but not before producing what has now become the foundation for the Lomondvale Kennel.
